About

The EOS 1Ds is a large, professionally-oriented DSLR introduced by Canon in 2002. Historically this is a significant camera, being the first successful digital SLR based around a 24x36mm (a.k.a "full frame") sensor chip. The full-frame Contax N Digital appeared earlier; but its problems drove Contax from the DSLR market entirely.
