About

The Canon IX is an SLR camera for the APS film system, introduced in 1996. It was the flagship of the SLR cameras for the APS system. It uses Canon's EF lenses, which were until then only used with the EOS camera bodies for 35mm film. So this camera was the prototype for later DSLR cameras with a CCD-sensor chip in APS-format. It has a built-in flash. It was also known as the EOS IX E in Japan.
