After a number of delays and design changes (see original concept here), the Phantom was eventually released, being the first product from Florida-based company, Infinium Labs. The company claims to be made up of industry veterans with experience in building large companies. The console is said to be able to outperform the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Game Cube with its high-speed processor, broader range of games and online broadband connectivity. The system does not take DVDs, CDs or cartridges. Instead, games are downloaded via a broadband Internet connection.
