The next console in the GameBoy series is said to have a flip-top "clam shell" design similar to that of the GameBoy Advance SP and Nintendo DS. Games for the system will come on mini discs, instead of cartridges, and it is likely to be backwards compatible with the GameBoy Advance (and possibly GameBoy) games, however, probably won't feature a cartridge port for those games. Instead, an external device may be used to download the games off cartridges to a hard drive on the system. Graphics are said to be of 128-bit standard, and better than those seen on the Sega Dreamcast.
