About
The K-500 was an entry-level DSLR introduced under the Pentax brand of Ricoh Imaging in 2013, offering a 16 megapixel APS-C sensor. It was introduced alongside the similar but slightly more upmarket Pentax K-50; but unlike that model, the K-500 only appeared in basic black, and was sold for a comparatively brief period. At its price point, the K-500 was praised for including a true pentaprism viewfinder (rather than a dimmer "pentamirror") and a front control dial.
