The MVC-FD87 was one of the Mavica series of digital cameras from Sony, announced at the February, 2001, PMA show alongside the MVC-FD75, MVC-FD92, and MVC-FD97[1]—the fourth generation of Mavicas using standard 3.5" computer floppy disks for image storage. However at the maximum possible image resolution of 1280×960 pixels, only approximately six images could be stored on a 1.4 MB floppy.
