This system is also known as: The PlayStation Portable (PSP) was officially announced at Sony\'s E3 Conference on May 11th 2004 and was released in Japan on December 12th 2004 at a price of 19 800 Yen, with a North American release on March 24th 2005, and European and Australian releases in mid 2005. The PSP, as the name suggests, is like a portable version of Sony\'s popular PlayStation and PlayStation 2. It is capable of playing 3D games on it\'s 16:9 widescreen colour TFT LCD screen with 480 x 272 pixel resolution and 16.77 million colour palette. The controls are similar to the PlayStation controller and also features an analogue stick. Games are stored on UMD (Universal Media Discs) which are about 65mm in diameter and can hold up to 1.8GB of digital media. The system also comes with a USB 2.0 port
